Privacy Policy

About this policy

The Dome Vancouver is a live event venue in British Columbia. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, sign up for our newsletter, or buy tickets, and what we do with that information. It follows three Canadian privacy laws: the federal PIPEDA, British Columbia's PIPA, and Quebec's Law 25.

Definitions

A few quick definitions so nothing in this policy is unclear:

  • Personal information: anything that identifies you or could be linked back to you, like your name, email, IP address, or browsing activity on this site.
  • Cookie: a small text file a website saves in your browser. It usually holds a random ID that helps a site or service remember you between visits.
  • Tracking pixel: a tiny piece of code that loads when you visit a page. It tells a third party (like Meta or TikTok) that you were on our site, so they can measure ads.
  • Consent: a clear 'yes' from you. You give it by tapping Accept all or by turning on a category in our cookie settings. You can change your mind any time.
  • Third party: a separate company that handles some part of the service for us, like Google or TicketTailor.

Your consent

We need your consent before we collect, use, or share your personal information. There are two kinds of consent we rely on:

  • Express consent: when you tap Accept all on the cookie banner, sign up for the newsletter, or send us a message, you are clearly saying yes.
  • Implied consent: when you visit our site and the basic services that keep it running load (like the page itself), your consent is implied because the site cannot work without them.

You can withdraw your consent at any time. Change your cookie choices using Cookie Settings in the footer. Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link at the bottom of any email. For anything else, email us at the address below. Withdrawing consent will not affect anything we have already done with your permission.

Personal information we collect

We collect three kinds of information.

  1. Things you give us directly: your email address if you sign up for the newsletter, and any message you send us.
  2. Things collected automatically by your browser: your IP address, the pages you visit, the time of your visit, the device and browser you use, and (only if you allow it) advertising and analytics identifiers.
  3. Things our partners collect on our behalf: TicketTailor handles ticket purchases and Resend handles newsletter delivery. They collect what they need to do their jobs.

How we use your personal information

  • To run the website and keep it secure.
  • To measure how the site is used so we can improve it (only if you allow analytics cookies).
  • To measure how our advertising performs and show you relevant ads on other platforms (only if you allow marketing cookies).
  • To send you our newsletter (only if you sign up).
  • To list shows and let you click through to buy tickets.
  • To answer your questions when you contact us.

We do not make decisions about you that are based only on automated processing. A real person reviews anything that significantly affects you.

Cookies and tracking pixels

When you first visit, you'll see a banner with three choices: Accept all, Reject all, or Customize. The default before you choose is 'no tracking'. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

We group third-party services into three categories.

Necessary

Necessary services run even if you reject everything else, because they don't use cookies and don't identify you.

Analytics (only if you turn it on)

Marketing (only if you turn it on)

Linking your visit to TicketTailor

When you click Buy Tickets, you leave our site and go to tickettailor.com. So that Google Analytics counts your visit and your ticket purchase as one journey instead of two separate visits, our site adds a short, temporary code (called a 'linker') to the link you click. The code does not contain your name or email.

This linker only runs if you have allowed analytics cookies. If you reject analytics, no linker is added.

Newsletter

If you give us your email through our newsletter form, we send it directly to Resend, an email delivery service. Resend stores the email and sends our newsletter on our behalf.

  • What we collect: your email address.
  • What we use it for: sending our newsletter.
  • How long we keep it: until you unsubscribe.
  • How to unsubscribe: click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter email, or email us (see Contact us below).

Resend's privacy policy.

Ticket purchases

We do not sell tickets ourselves. When you click Buy Tickets on a show page, you leave our site and go to TicketTailor. TicketTailor takes your name, email, payment, and any other details needed to issue your ticket. We never see or store your payment information.

We do receive limited information back from TicketTailor's API to display on our site, like the show, date, price, and how many tickets are available. We do not receive your name, email, or card data.

TicketTailor's privacy policy.

How we share your personal information

We share information with the third parties listed above, and only for the purposes listed. We do not sell your personal information.

We may also share information if a Canadian law requires it, for example a court order or a request from a government authority that has the right to it.

Opting out of communications

You can opt out at any time.

  • Newsletter: click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter email, or email us at the address below.
  • Cookies and tracking pixels: click Cookie Settings in the footer to change your choices.
  • All other uses: email us at the address below and tell us what you want us to stop.

Retention of personal information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it.

  • Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.
  • Google Analytics data: up to 14 months.
  • Advertising pixel cookies: up to 13 months (the exact length is set by each ad platform).
  • Web server logs (your IP address and the page you requested): 90 days.
  • Ticket purchase data: held by TicketTailor under their own retention policy.
  • Messages you send us: up to 24 months after our last reply.

When the time is up, we delete or anonymize the information.

Information security

We use industry-standard security: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and trusted hosting partners. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you we will let you know as required by Canadian law.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA (federal), BC PIPA, and Quebec Law 25, you have the right to:

  • Access: ask us what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correct: ask us to fix anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Withdraw consent: change your cookie choices, unsubscribe from the newsletter, or tell us to stop using your information. (This will not affect anything we have already done with your permission.)
  • Delete: ask us to delete your information, unless a law requires us to keep it.
  • Portability (Quebec residents): get your information in a structured, common, machine-readable format. This Quebec-specific right has been in force since September 2024.
  • Cessation or de-indexing (Quebec residents): in the limited cases set out in Law 25, ask us to stop sharing your personal information or to remove links that cause serious harm to your privacy or reputation.
  • Complain to a regulator: if you do not think we have handled your information properly.

The regulators are:

  • Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: priv.gc.ca
  • Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia: oipc.bc.ca
  • Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec: cai.gouv.qc.ca

How to use your rights

Email info@domevancouver.com with the word Privacy in the subject line. Tell us:

  1. Which right you want to use (access, correct, withdraw, delete, port).
  2. Enough information for us to find your records (the email address you used, roughly when you contacted us, etc.).

We will reply within 30 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and how long.

To verify your identity, we may ask you to confirm details only you would know. We will not ask for your government ID unless we cannot verify you any other way.

Using your rights is free. We will only charge a fee in unusual cases (for example, repeated or very large requests), and we will tell you the fee in advance so you can decide whether to go ahead.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we handled your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer first using the email below. We will look into it and tell you what we found within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take your complaint to one of the regulators listed above.

Information stored outside Canada

Most of the companies listed above are based in the United States. TicketTailor is based in the United Kingdom. Your information may be stored or processed in those countries when you use our site or buy tickets. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of that country, which can include access by foreign government authorities.

Quebec's Law 25 requires us to tell Quebec residents about this in advance. We tell everyone, not just Quebec residents.

Other websites and services we link to

Our website links to other sites — TicketTailor, social media platforms, partner venues, and others. Once you click through, you are on a different company's website. Their privacy practices are not covered by this policy. Please read each company's privacy policy to understand what they do with your information.

Children's information

Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us using the email below and we will delete it.

Updates to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the Last updated date at the top. If the change is significant, we will also post a notice on the site.
